We are so pleased to be posting this lovely contribution from Lins Drabwell -
DaisychainBaby. I really do reccommend that everyone take a few minutes out of your day to check out this fab website!

My name is Lins Drabwell and at the end of last year, I founded my online business, DaisychainBaby. The idea for the business came about from wanting a change in career after having spent a long time in the same job (incidentally, I’m still in the same job!) but finding my opportunities limited. I knew that if I wanted to take the plunge and work on something that was my project, it had to be something I had an interest in, wouldn’t require too much investment to begin with, and that there was a viable market for what I wanted to do.
And so, after many late nights and crazy ideas, DCB was born. We’ve approached the babycare market from an eco-friendly approach, which seems to be ever-popular these days, specialising in organic/ethically sourced clothing, skincare and accessories for tots under two. There have been numerous ups and downs along the way, and we’re still learning with a certain amount of trepidation mixed with a huge amount of enthusiasm (and the odd complaint from me that there don’t seem to be enough hours in the day!)
I’ve been totally dependent on the love and support of my nearest and dearest to get the show on the road, but thankfully would expect nothing less from them!! What has taken me by surprise in the past few months, is the overwhelming support network there seems to be from those who I’ve never met before, and may never meet (although I hope that’s not true!). In a very short space of time, I’ve been fortunate to make some really wonderful business connections, just like Joanne who runs Charlie Moo’s, who seem to only exist in a virtual world, until you realise that you’re interested in their holiday pictures, or genuinely concerned if you find out that things aren’t going too well, wondering how you can help. Triumphs are shared, recommendations passed along, support given when needed.
I was fortunate enough to finally meet Brenda Cuby from The Green Familia at a show recently, and although having never met face-to-face before, it genuinely felt like catching up with a friend. I’ve learned that networking is invaluable but that building friendships into it where possible is just as important. Wondering who I might get to know from day-to-day is one of the parts of DCB that I love – long may it continue!
A huge thanks to Joanne for giving me this opportunity to waffle on!
