Megan 22/510I am so loving these sunny days!!  On Wednesday I took my lovely friend Rachel from Tots and Tiddlers Toys, for a birthday treat with Jayne (Topsy-Turvy Childcare).  We had one child (which was good going as between us we have 9 children!) and it was my beauty Megan ... who had been possessed by demons!! She wasn't naughty at all, just falling over, climbing on tables, eating then running off to play ... you know the deal!!  We took Rachel to the pub for lunch, we spent the whole day sat in the beer garden ...... WORKING!!!! What I hear you cry!! Well I guess it puts a whole new slant on working lunch. But I'm pleased to announce we achieved a great deal.. Which got me thinking I could do with one of these every week.  I ate lunch, gossiped with my friends, played with Megan, got some jobs done AND chilled in the garden!  That hardly ever happens!!

Park 23/5/10Today after a lot of gardening and sorting (as Daddy Moo is doing a car boot on Sunday)  we decided to take Moo & Megan off to the park for ice-creams and what a relaxing time we had!! I think Daddy Moo had a bit too much fun climbing up and down inside the lizard!! I don't however think his knees or back will be impressed tomorrow! But it was great to see the kids having a great time!! You forget how quickly the time flies and its great that I have a job where I can just take a day out to be with my children and have fun!!

If you have been following my blog, Facebook Fan Page or Twitter feed then you will be fully aware that on Thursday 13th May it was finally the day of the Langtry Manor Business Awards.
Langtry Manor

I must admit I was a nervous as anything and oddly everytime I started to think about it I felt like crying!! After a manic week of clothes sorting and the mother of all colds we were suited and booted.  Laura and I Langtry I had 3 guest tickets and took Daddy Moo, Laura Morris (www.rentabuggy.co.uk) who you know is my Networking Mummies business partner and all round good egg!! I also took Darren Toms (Darren Toms The Choice) - Darren kindly shot my video for me, he is a fab business coach and has been a welcomed added addition to Networking Mummies.  And I was thrilled to spend the evening with three people so dear to me.   Laura and Darren

There were also a few other Networking Mummies up for awards so it was lovely to all join together and celebrate our achievements.  The fabulous Margaret Hitchmen from Bagel Heaven and Hope FM was up for Best New Business against my new chum Amanda Jenner from My Carry Potty.  Amanda was crowned the winner and I am so proud of both ladies, who were both in the top ten for Business Mum of the Year.  The lovely ladies from Sugar Plum Fairy were up for Best dot.com which is an awesome achievement in itself as they only launched their website in March and run by a mother/daughter duo.  They were piped to the post by me-mo.co.uk but should be so delighted to have come so far in such a short amount of time.  So if you are in need of shoes or handbags give these girls a call they do parties to!

Charlie Moo's was up for Best Green Business and we had some stiff competition.  We were thrilled that the lovely Louise Regan from the green won as not only is her business concept, name and ethos completely green she makes delicious biscuits!! (Louise made 200 bags up for the Fashion Show and lets just say Daddy Moo had to pay the charity tin a lot of money!!)  I did receive a beautiful framed finalist certificate which I have hung in the office/corner of our bedroom!!

The meal was scrummy and the wine on our table was flowing (well Daddy Moo and Darren were driving shame! More for Laura and I!) So finally they called out the three finalists and a bit about our businesses for the Dorset Business Mum of the Year.  Now I don't know if its the wine or the sheer excitement but I don't remember very much about this part!! I heard Tim Saunders call a name and sat clapping while Daddy Moo poked me in the arm and I turned and said 'did they call my name' in this next few moments I made a speech and had my pictures taken .... God only knows what I was talking about!! I do know I was being filmed so ekkkkk!! and I do remember saying 'we're bloody good at it!' so could be a huge cringe fest!

Dorset Business Mum of the Year 2010This is the none cheesy version of me and the glass award! So all that is left for me to say today is Thank you to everyone who nominated me as 5 people did.  For Laura (2010 BABY!!) and Darren for helping me get through to the 2nd round with my synopsis and video. I love you both dearly.  To the lovely people who voted for me!! THANK YOU!!

And last of all to my family - Daddy Moo I love you more than cheese, your my best friend and without you I would always be a thinker and not a doer!  Your strength, wisdom and hand holding are always needed!!   To Moo and Megan well what can I say your my life and my biggest achievement everything else pales in comparison .... Mummy is so proud of you xxx
