Think Science this Christmas

Posted on

Charlie Moo loves science! He loves investigating and doing experiments. You might remember the hovercraft he made from a CD and balloon, which he wrote about for Raring2Go! Bournemouth Magazine and got his experiment Beaver Badge for (he now has 2 of those!)

After seeing the Science Museum The Energy Show touring live in May Moo's interest has peaked even more! Well what small boys doesn't enjoy seeing/hearing things get blown up! When we went to Lollibop the Science Museum stand was one of the first places we went. He got so annoyed and frustrated that the ball which looked like thick liquid kept popping into thin air - washing up liquid and dry ice – especially when Megan held it first time!

The Science Museum might not be your first point of call when hunting for that perfect gift this Christmas but they actually have a fab range both on and offline. The Christmas Stocking range has products priced from £4 - £22 for all members of the family (I quite fancy the cucumbo and Brush Robot if you haven't got my gift yet!).

Along with experiments Moo has a keen interest in watches and learning to read the time making a Potato Clock the PERFECT stocking filler for him! The kit comes complete with wires, transparent tape, copper and zinc strips - all he needs is a couple of simple spuds to get the clock ticking. RRP £12. Keep your eyes peeled for a video from Professor Moo and his potato clock in due course!

The Science Museum's first ever stand alone pop-up shop in Bluewater Shopping Centre is open until 31st December. Not only can you check out the range BUT visitors will be able to watch live experiments, interact with science and play with the latest robots and gadgets! I so wish we lived closer! If you get a chance to go please do tag me in any images you post @CharlieMoos (on twitter, instagram and pinterest) I'd love to see.

What are you planning to buy your little scientist this Christmas?
