The cold never bothered me anyway!

We are so lucky to have such lovely places to visit in Dorset and many for free! Last weekend the children were a bit wild on the Saturday so Sunday we were up dressed and out of the house early! It was bitter and I knew we wouldn't last very long but the idea was to dose them up with some good old fashioned fresh air and then enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon film. (Well that was the plan!) I drove over to Hamworthy Park near Poole. I've not been there for ages and if we do it's normally the summer as they have a large splash pool.

Parking is free and I started to panic as we neared that it would be full and I'd have to think on my feet but we found a spot easily and before I'd even wrapped myself up the kids were legging it across the field to the park. The park at Hamworthy is fab lots of well maintained equipment suitable for both Olive and M&M. Charlie diced with death by going on the zipline which went over the largest muddiest puddle part of me hoped he'd fall in the other part was not liking the though of getting him home thick in mud freezing!

We walked over to the beach too and enjoyed throwing in some stones and collecting shells. It was sooooo cold and the wind was wild! Megan wrote me a message in the sand and we saw a few people wind surfing! Moo buttoned up his coat around his face and Olive was starting to turn a bit blue! After refiling through my coat pocket I found £5, a bus ticket (WHAT?!) a shell and some flint so we trotted over to the cafe and ordered a large bowl of chips and a cup of tea.

After we had warmed up the moo's insisted on more playing in the park. I'd like to say once we got home they were more tranquil but alas this is not true!

  1. The beach is always great for finding cool things. Shells, unusual pebbles, fossils, sanded down glass. Not to mention all of the wildlife. Looks like you had a great time (o: #CountryKids
