The arrival of Father Christmas to Stewarts Garden Centre in Broomhill, signals for us Dewberry/Giltrow's the beginning of Christmas!! This year we were organised and armed with our Christmas jumpers! The weather wasn't looking it's kindest but we made our way over to Broomhill with plenty of time to wonder round the display and see the reindeer.
This year the display was very different including a cute little green bus filled with elves! The usual train circled round the bus, with button to allow the children to stop and start it. I always love this display, as it's somewhere we come every year. I fondly remember sitting on the perfectly placed wooden bench when Charlie was a little baby.
We queued outside waiting for the marching bad to strike up signalling that Father Christmas was on his way. Although it was cold and spitting a little the great excitement and anticipation from the children makes it all worthwhile. Previous years we have seen Father Christmas arrive on a fire engine, a big old green double decker we had been debating in the car what transport he would take this year. The Dorset marching band were as usual amazing, I love seeing the tiny children and the adults playing in unison. Finally a majestic white shire horse pulling a green sleigh round the corner appeared and the children began waving and cheering!! Olive was pretty much beside herself that a horse was there. But she's not been feeling herself lately and wasn't up for photos.
Olive loves horses so much and this one was a beauty!
I love this photo! Charlie clearly missed the joke!!
Meeting Father Christmas.
Now we can officially begin the Christmas celebrations!
