Our #LittleMoments at Drayton Manor

I'm always on the look out for great days out especially when we do our yearly trip to Nottingham. This year we decided to check out Drayton Manor Park, which is situated in Tamworth. Drayton Manor is kind of like the Midlands Paulton's Park, however their younger section is Thomas the Tank Engine themed rather than Peppa Pig. I thought Moo would be well over Thomas but he really enjoyed seeing all his favourite characters come to life. I think he secretly enjoyed getting soaked on Flynn's Fire Rescue! Drayton Manor has such a great mix of rides suitable for a large expanse of age but also adrenaline levels. Megan is a thrill seeker whereas Moo is much happier in the zoo area!

Here are our #LittleMoments which make Drayton Manor the perfect day out.

Adrenaline Junkies :

Sadly on many occasion (well sad for Megan good for me!) Megan is just under the required height for the super scary rides but she did persuade me to go on Ben 10 and The Bounty Pirate Ship both of which I came off crying (those heights really make my eyes water!) and Megan wanting to ride again! Ben 10 is actually the only ride we had to queue for and it was around 30 minutes.

Thomas Land :

I love rides that don't require an adult to get on aswell! It gave Nanny and I a chance to rest and have a coffee! You really feel like you have popped into Sodor and unlike some rides geared at younger children there seemed to be a good mix. There were also little shows from the Fat Controller at Sodor Station. The queue to ride the trains in Thomas Land were quite long however we rode Percy through the park twice getting on at the Zoo where there were no queues. It's a great way to get back to the main action and to see the animals and park.

The Zoo :

Charlie loves animals and this zoo was totally unexpected and delightful. There was a lot to see and a park in the middle to keep the girls entertained too. The tigers gave a little performance for us over a chunk of meat! Olive kept commenting on how the mannerisms of the tiger were much like our pet cat George, whilst this maybe true we aren't getting a pet tiger! The trail through the tamarin monkeys hasn't been open long and provides a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the theme park and rides. Nanny Moo is afraid of snakes meaning we gave this area a miss (didn't want her having nightmares!)

Bumper Cars :

Charlie and Nanny love the bumper cars and went on quite a few times with and without Megan. Despite being popular the cars had a large capacity meaning that you never waited very long. They are also situated next to the Jolly Buccaneer which Olive and I ride multiple times. When your a 9 year old boy whats not to love about bumper cars! You get to drive! There's loud music and flashing lights and to top it off you are actively encouraged to “bump” into people!

Despite only having been to Legoland a few days prior we absolutely loved Drayton Manor. It's one of the best theme parks I've been too! We had a great day, great weather, short queuing times, lots to keep the children entertained considering their varying ages and interest levels. We left full of chatter about our day and throughly exhausted.

Disclosure : We were provided with a family pass of 5 to Drayton Manor for the purposes of writing this review.
